The Gulf Coast Safety Institute is currently closed until further notice in the interest of the safety and health of our staff and students due to COVID-19. All face-to-face classes through April 30th have been cancelled.

Check out the Center for Risk Management page for classes that have been moved to an online format. For courses after April 30th, please check back here. We will attempt to reschedule any cancelled classes at a later date. Our staff are working from home during this time and will answer emails and phone calls within 24 hours.

Gulf Coast Safety Institute

The Gulf Coast Safety Institute was established in 2007 to provide safety and health training and education to workers and employers. Additionally, the Gulf Coast Safety Institute is an OSHA Challenge Program Administrator mentoring over 50 companies in improving their Safety and Health Management System to potentially achieve OSHA’s Voluntary Protection Program STAR status.

Drug Impairment Training for Texas Employers- Train-the-Trainer
Can your managers and supervisors identify an impaired employee in the workplace? This education is highly effective staff development tool to help your leaders to do just that.

Texas Employer Traffic Safety Training
The National Safety Council's Texas Employer Traffic Safety Program Our Driving Concern is offering this free training program to teach employers the basics of transportation safety. This training is geared for HR professionals, safety professionals, supervisors, & safety
instructors., The Our Driving Concern (ODC) materials are designed with an Employer-Employee focus and are designed to deliver to your employees at staff meetings, tailgate talks, etc.

Motor vehicle crashes are the leading cause of unintentional workplace deaths in Texas. An average workplace motor vehicle crash costs an employer more than $24,000. If the employee is injured, the average cost increase to more than $125,000. University of Texas at Arlington (UTA) Courses

All UTA hosted classes are postponed until further notice.

The University of Texas at Arlington's OSHA Education Center and the expanded Environmental Training Institute deliver a wealth of training to help you manage environmental, health, and safety risks in your organization. The following classes are being hosted by the Gulf Coast Safety Institute. All students must register with University of Texas at Arlington (UTA) prior to the start of class. Any student who has not registered with UTA will not be allowed to participate. When registering please inform UTA that you heard about the class from the Gulf Coast Safety Institute.

All classes are presented at the Gulf Coast Safety Institute at 320 Delaney Road, La Marque, TX 77568. Student check-in will begin 30 minutes before class. Please do not block gate upon arriving. Parking is available across street until building is open.
